I went to school with Pete and he was a GREAT guy. A good soul through and through. Your loss breaks my heart.

Yes, I have finally visited this page! I knew Pete since he was a little boy and he always had a smile on his face! The Rinners have a wonderful family. Marcia and I have something in common. We have lost a son. Maybe to different causes but a son, no less! My son's name was Chris Ackerman. He was a wonderful person. We will always wish we can turn back time but this we can not do. We will have to wait to see them when the time is right. Always do what you can to help a person fight whatever they are battling because maybe you might save a life.

I was introduced to this website by PapaSteve, a friend and fellow recovering addict. My first drug of choice was heroin and I have struggled with addiction for over thirty years. Addiction is a prison of our own making. It tells you who to be, what to do, what to say and who you can be with. I am a member of NA and the only promise NA makes is the freedom from active addiction. Today, I have a choice - something the drugs never let me have. I have had a number of relapses, but that is not a requirement. It is a symptom of the disease. I keep coming back. My message is to those who struggle to stay clean. Keep trying - never give up. No matter how bad it gets, there is ALWAYS hope until you're in the grave.

I finally made time to check out this site. It is quite impressive and humbling at the same time. Being on the hunt for a solution to a growing problem is one of the most difficult event in a person's life. The problem-solving journey is frustrating, rewarding and exhausting. The only mistake in taking this journey would be giving up. Stand tall, be firm and move forward even if it feels like falling backward. I pray this is a short journey with county-wide, then state-wide, then country-wide success...even if it's a turtle's pace!

I think what you are doing is a beautful thing. I went through my own "dark days" with drugs, even being a paul barrer at Petes funeral. I am glad to see that Pete will not be remembered just the way he died. Some of my earliest memories are playing hotwheels with Pete. God bless you with what you are doing!!!

I remember hearing of Pete's death back in 1999, but I only just learned of the foundation and this website. Marci, I am so impressed by all that you are doing to educate others on this very important issue. You are truly making a difference! May God continue to bless you and your family.

It has been eight long years since you went home to be with God... We miss you so much. But then when I look at a lovely blue sky -I think of your shining blue eyes and smile.. You helped so many folks here on earth and I am praying that this web site will help others that are going through the pain that you endured.
Just wanted to let folks know that we still miss you daily and to drop us a line if they want to talk about you.
Love always, Mom and Dad

For some reason Pete popped in my head today and I wanted to see how this site was doing. It seems like just yesterday that we were making that drive up to Norwalk to see Pete one last time and it wasn't to say hello-it was to say goodbye. I think what you are doing is great. It appears you have touched many people and I praise you for your work. Keep it up!

Happy Birthday Little Bro...I miss you more each day and I cherish each and every memory I have of you. You were an incredible person and I was so lucky to have 24 years with you. You would have changed this world. May you rest in peace sweetie. I will always love you....

I am currently a graduate student in a School of Social Work Prorgam and one of my assignments was to review your web site. My posting isn't part of the class, but your story was very touching and I hope it inspires others to reach out for help.

Marci,
I just wanted to let you know that I feel so bad for you and your family! Your story really touched me, and i hope it did with other kids as well. Those who take drugs as a joke need to think twice, because stories like yours happen all too much. Thanks again for coming to my school a few years ago, and I'll be thinking about you and your family.
Love,
Ashley

Hello Marci
As I was sitting here the other day,Pete Rinner popped into my head. I wondered about how you & your family were doing and wondered if you still had Pete's site going. So today I took the time to look it up, I am very impressed on how well this is going. Doesn't seem that long ago that this happened. I just want to let you know I think of you alot and I hope this has made a big difference in your life.
A job well done Marci.
Love: Ruthann
I do some counseling in my area also. I have never dealt with drugs, nor anyone close to me. But, I have learned alot in couseling people. Where you are taking your lose, to help others is so great. Like you I feel it is easier to teach about the dangers before they start, than trying to get a person to become drug free for life. So many people don't know the signs. I will use your information. You will never know how many people you help! May God lead you and guide your steps always.
