This site has helped a lot. Like your family, my family was destroyed by drugs. My cousin was murdered because of drugs. I am starting an organzation: Swim which stands for substances will impair your mind. I've gotten some ideas off of what you guys have done and I hope I can be as successful as you have.

What an amazing story. We copied Pete's story 590 times and it was passed out to everyone in the school. Lots of people were in the hall crying after reading it. Thank u for sharing your story, it touched us and helped us understand that it could happen to anyone. Thanks again. May god bless you and your family!!!

Thank you, for spreading the awareness that "junkies" are real people who before drugs take their hold are real wonderful people, children, friends and in my case like yours, someones beautiful talented and dearly missed brother. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for your story. Just wanted to let you know I will be using it in my "Dangers of Drugs" class that I will teach tomorrow. This class is made up of young offenders, mostly drug related. Your story will touch them all and will make them think. Thanks for making a difference in their lives!

I cried after I read your story. I hope you keep peace with yourself and always understand that this is not your fault. Also, know that Pete is watching over you.

yes i can say some words on this cause i have used meth, weed, alcohol, and they are very bad drugs so if you are using drugs you need to stop and think about what you are doing and get help from a friend or go to rehab alot of my friends have overdosed on drugs.

I met you when you came to LCJVS when we had our 2 COOL 4 DRUGS assembly. Your story touched me greatly. I cried myself to sleep the night that you told me Pete's story because all I could think about was my sister who does drugs and has three children, we have now found out she was pregnant and had a miscarriage, which I don't know if it was from all the drugs she has done or not. I still have not been able to help her and I really do want to because it makes my heart hurt to think about what I would do if I lost her. Pete's story has truly touched me. So thank you. You may not remember me but I will always remember you and your touching story about Pete.

I am a aftercare coordinator for adolescent substance abusers. I worked w/ adult substance abuse for nine years and am in recovery myself for 18yrs now. I just wanted to send my condolences and say that this story truly touched my heart. it is so unfortunate that the signs are'nt easily seen in some cases which is why i chose to work w/ teens now. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

you really touched me.. when you spoke at my school.. and the sad part is that there we also so many others that were too but yet they haven't stopped what they were doing.. i used to smoke pot and get high.. get drunk.. and take over the counter stuff like C3's and it was fun.. but it was stupid and it took me until after i had moved away form ohio and away from my friends that i realized it.. and i'm glad i dont anymore.. anything could have happened.. i just wish my friends would realize that.. but thank you so much.. and i appreciate you speaking out...
